RAISE at the event “New Challenges in Advanced Functional Materials”: innovation and sustainability for Liguria

On February 19, 2025, from 10:30 AM to 4:30 PM, the networking event “New Challenges in Advanced Functional Materials” will take place at the Sala Azzurra of the CNR Research Area in Genoa (Corso F. M. Perrone 24). The event is organized within the framework of CNR-Scitec’s Third Mission initiative, “Dialogues between CNR and Academia”.
RAISE will play a key role in the initiative with a presentation titled “RAISE Ecosystem – Results and Perspectives”, delivered by Cristina Battaglia, Programme Manager, and Marco Faimali, leader of Spoke 3, both invited as speakers. Their participation will provide an opportunity to illustrate RAISE’s role in technological innovation and environmental protection, emphasizing the significance of the innovation ecosystem being developed through artificial intelligence and robotics, with a particular focus on the needs of the Liguria Region.
The event will bring together key scientific institutions, including the Giulio Natta Institute of Chemical Sciences and Technologies of the CNR (CNR-Scitec) and several departments of the University of Genoa. The dialogue between research institutions and local stakeholders will facilitate an in-depth discussion on the challenges of advanced functional materials, with applications in crucial fields such as energy, biofunctional sensing, electronics and photonics, cultural heritage preservation, catalysis, and sustainability.
The event’s agenda includes a morning session featuring presentations by the participating institutions and key local actors, including Regione Liguria/Filse, TICASS Scrl/Polo Tecnologico EASS, Confindustria Genova/BeDimensional SpA, and the Liguria PNRR RAISE Innovation Ecosystem. In the afternoon, a Posters & Networking session, accompanied by a coffee break, will provide further opportunities for discussion and collaboration.
The event will be supported by a communication initiative led by CNR-Scitec through the “Communication in 3D” format, aimed at promoting scientific dissemination and engaging an increasingly broad network of stakeholders.
RAISE’s participation in this initiative represents a strategic opportunity to strengthen synergies, share results, and consolidate an innovation ecosystem focused on the sustainable and technological development of the Liguria region.
