RAISE at the “Genoa Capital of Supercomputing” conference

On Friday, March 28, 2024, Genoa will host a significant event in the field of technology and research with the signing of a memorandum of understanding aimed at establishing the city as the “Capital of Supercomputing.”
The event “Genoa Capital of Supercomputing – High Performance Computing for Biomedical Research”, organized by Liguria Digitale at the Great Campus Scientific and Technological Park in Erzelli, will bring together representatives from academia, industry, and institutions to discuss the opportunities offered by supercomputing and advanced technologies, particularly in the clinical, biomedical, robotic, simulation, and high-performance data analysis sectors.
The agreement will be signed by leading institutions and companies, including the National Research Council, the Genoa Chamber of Commerce, Confindustria Genoa, the Italian Institute of Technology, the Giannina Gaslini Institute, Leonardo, Liguria Digitale, MNESYS, the San Martino Polyclinic Hospital, RAISE, and the University of Genoa.
During the event, Cristina Battaglia, Programme Manager at RAISE, will speak in the session “The NRRP Boost for Research”, contributing to the discussion alongside Loredana Luzzi (MNESYS).
The intervention will provide an analysis of the opportunities arising from the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (NRRP) for the biomedical sector, highlighting the strategic role of high-performance computing infrastructures and public-private collaborations in fostering scientific and technological innovation.
The event represents a significant opportunity to strengthen Liguria’s position as an international center of excellence and to promote synergies between institutions, research, and businesses in the field of supercomputing.
