Robot Valley Genova 2025: robotics, artificial intelligence, art and territory

After the success of its first edition, Robot Valley Genova returns, the event dedicated to robotics, artificial intelligence, and emerging technologies.

The second edition will take place from April 10 to 12, 2025, at the historic Villa Bombrini in Genova Cornigliano, offering an even richer program of conferences, workshops, practical demonstrations, and interactive exhibitions.

Organized by the RAISE ecosystem in coordination with the University of Genoa, the CNR, and the IIT, Robot Valley Genova promotes collaboration between research, industry, and institutions to develop innovative technological solutions.

Robot Valley Genova 2025 aims to explore the role of new technologies in society, connecting robotics and artificial intelligence with art and local culture. The event will feature public talks, expert meetings, scientific updates, and hands-on workshops.

Notably, the 2025 edition will be an official event of the National Made in Italy Day, a recognition awarded by MIMIT. The event will focus on enhancing local enterprises and Ligurian research laboratories engaged in developing innovative solutions to improve quality of life, the environment, and work.

Robot Valley Genova 2025: main events on the schedule:
– Thursday, April 10 | Opening ceremony with institutional greetings, followed by an afternoon session reserved for research groups and companies already involved in the RAISE Up mentorship program.
– Friday, April 11 | In the morning, technical-scientific conferences and a roundtable discussion led by Scientific Director Fulvio Mastrogiovanni from the University of Genoa. The afternoon will focus on career guidance for students and PhD candidates, organized by UniGe.
– Saturday, April 12 | The morning program will explore the intersection of science and art through talks and interviews curated by Artistic Director Maurizio Gregorini. In the afternoon, a session dedicated to the general public will offer numerous opportunities to delve into the latest developments in robotics at both local and international levels.

Throughout the three days, visitors will have the chance to explore not only the most advanced scientific developments but also the impact of technology on daily life. The event is designed for everyone: schools, families, researchers, university students and PhD candidates.

Highlights:
– Educational workshops (Saturday, April 12) | Children and families can participate in four interactive robotics and AI workshops, organized by the Science Festival and the School of Robotics. On the first two days, workshops will be reserved for schools.
– Robotic demos | Live demonstrations by the Italian Institute of Technology and the University of Genoa, with researchers available to showcase the latest technological applications.
– “RAISE The Future” photo exhibition | A digital image exhibition co-created with artificial intelligence, curated by the CNR and the RAISE Communication Team, illustrating the future of robotics in support of humans and the environment.

Artistic and Scientific Initiatives:
In the days leading up to the event, from April 9 to 17, Largo Alessandro Pertini will host an artistic installation by Marco Nereo Rotelli. The project features a container created by ELITAL, a leading aerospace component design company, housing a holographic installation. The hologram, designed in collaboration with digital designer Antonio Alfano, will bring to life Welcome Kalikazoo: a mechanical angel symbolizing human-machine interaction, with AI-generated poetry paying tribute to Genoese avant-garde poetry through verses by Edoardo Sanguineti.

In the context of Robot Valley, Bio Alter Ego will also be presented, an artistic-scientific project born from the collaboration between artist Alessandro Piano and IAS-CNR. The initiative aims to raise public awareness about the importance of marine biodiversity conservation through an artistic installation that involved submerging some of the iconic Alter Ego statuettes in the sea as collectors of marine biodiversity. These statuettes will be displayed in a special “robot-aquarium” during the event. The innovative Art-Science approach paves the way for future exhibitions and environmental conservation projects linked to the Ecorobotics activities of Spoke 3 of RAISE.
